capturing diverse expressions of love

across the full spectrum of gender identities

As We Are documents diverse expressions of love — weddings, elopements, commitment ceremonies, and other personal declarations of connection.

I work across the full spectrum of gender identities, approaching each story with thoughtfulness and respect.

Although Cape Town is my home, I have captured weddings and love stories internationally.

some weddings...

Yann & Joy in Martinique

I loved photographing this wedding — not just because it unfolded in Martinique beneath storm clouds that finally broke open, but because of the raw energy that only the Caribbean seems to carry. Friends and family flew in from every corner of the world, and when the music began, no one held back. Young, old, and everyone in between danced until the floorboards shook.

This was love, rhythm, and life in motion — captured as it happened, unposed and unpolished.

Thank you, Jann and Joy, for taking em with you to this magical island, to let me witness and tell the story of your wedding weekend.

Anna & Gordon in the cape town winelands

Anna and Gordon didn’t want every moment of their wedding documented — just the ones that carried real weight. We set up a photo booth for their guests to laugh and play in, while I turned my lens to portraits, the wedding party, and the smaller fragments of time that often pass unnoticed.

We worked with light and moments to make art, not to capture every detail but to tell a truer story: a handful of images that reflect who they are and what mattered most. Storytelling and photographic art at its best — pared back, honest, and theirs.

adelise & alex in london

Adelise and Alex’s wedding was quintessentially London — an old church on a busy corner, a pub across the street, double-decker buses pulling up, and passers-by pausing to cheer them on. Outside, the city hummed with life; inside, it was as if time had slowed. The ceremony carried the weight of tradition, every detail honoured, every word steeped in history.

I loved capturing that contrast — the bustle of London against the intimacy of their vows, the formality alongside the tenderness. A day that was both timeless and grounded, their love framed by the city itself.
